Utah Valley Esports - Fall 2024

Hello everyone! I am so excruciatingly excited for this semester and those following. The last couple of years have been rough to say the least... But, each year we come back stronger and more knowledgeable. Often times it has felt hopeless for all of us, with most of us working, doing school full-time, and trying to build this organization from the rubbles it's been a rough journey. I have recently been going through our google drive and looking through the archives and it is crazy to think that UVU Esports has been around since 2014. UVU Esports was originally founded as a League of Legends club but, the passion for gaming was immense and wide spread, everyone wanted in! League of Legends used to be the most popular title for us with high turnout in tournaments and some of the highest ranked players. It's insane to think that looking at our organization now, League isn't the most popular anymore. It might be 4th or 5th most popular.

When I first joined UVU Esports I was fresh out of high school and so excited to navigate this new world. Camden Snow was the president at the time and he was a true legend. His impact on our branding has been long lasting, his work was unmatched. He had a vision for this program and he would always say "UVU Esports is the people." That quote may live on forever, as I believe UVU Esports isn't about the games we play, the merch we make, or the events we host. UVU Esports is the community that we have made.

Now going into this new year I have some big plans and big dreams that I can hope to make a reality. I want to leave my mark and make something truly great of this program. I'm sure you will see more of me or hear more of me. Until then... Rei Faubus Vice President of Marketing 2024-2025
