About Utah Valley Esports

Utah Valley Esports was originally founded in 2014 as a League of Legends club at Utah Valley University. The focus shifted fast to esports as a whole. Utah Valley Esports (originally known as UVU Esports) hosted their very first end of year LAN party featuring a Super Smash Bros. Melee tournament with over 30 participants, an 8-team League of Legends tournament, and a 4-person Hearthstone tournament. Over the years Utah Valley Esports has grown exponentially, to say the least.

This growth has encouraged us to add more competitive titles under our belt. One of the very first competitive titles added was Starcraft II during the release of Legacy of the Void. Since then our Starcraft II competitive title has been discontinued but, its legacy remains. Today in 2024, we have 10 competitive titles: Apex Legends, Overwatch 2, Counter-Strike 2, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Valorant, League of Legends, Call of Duty, Halo Infinite, Rocket League, and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege.

Since March 1st, 2020 we have gained 1,793 members of our Discord. Utah Valley Esports has been around since 2014 but, this is only the beginning. We will continue growing and building our repertoire.

As of March 18, 2024, UVU Esports is now officially Utah Valley Esports. A nonprofit focused on fostering national and international amateur esports competitions by fielding competitive and community teams and events supported by our program as much as possible.
